Company Overview Blue J is the leading solution in generative AI for tax experts. Our cutting edge, AI-driven tax research software is the best in the market, driving deeper, more efficient research answers for accountants and lawyers across North America and in the UK. We’re also an award‑winning workplace whose success is intimately tied to our values‑driven culture. We care deeply about our team’s experience at work, and our People team is obsessed with fostering and maintaining a collaborative, performance‑driven, and happy environment for everyone who works here. Location Hybrid position requiring applicants to be within driving distance of Toronto for in‑person meetings 1–2 times per quarter. All candidates must be eligible to work in Canada. About The Role As our Talent Acquisition Manager, you’ll work alongside our People team to attract exceptional talent across all departments and help ensure a standout employee experience from day one. You’ll be reporting to our Director of Talent Acquisition, Deb Goldfarb, and working closely with hiring managers across the organization, speaking their language and understanding the nuances that matter when hiring top‑tier talent. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports, but with plenty of ownership and influence across the business. This isn’t your typical recruiting role; you’ll be at the heart of our talent strategy, combining talent acquisition with fun and creative initiatives to attract and engage top talent. From finding the perfect candidates to helping craft a culture where everyone feels supported and engaged, you’ll play a key role in making this a fantastic place to work. Responsibilities Conducting detailed intake meetings with hiring managers to understand their needs, define role requirements, and establish clear hiring timelines. Leveraging multiple channels, including job boards, social media, networking, and referrals, to proactively find and engage high‑quality candidates. Proactively building and maintaining a strong talent pipeline by sourcing candidates through various channels and cultivating a network of top talent through meaningful relationships and ongoing engagement. Overseeing the entire candidate lifecycle, from sourcing and screening to interview coordination and post‑interview debriefs. Acting as the primary point of contact, providing timely updates and ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout the process. Collaborating with hiring managers to develop competitive offer packages and delivering offers to candidates in an engaging and professional manner. Identifying opportunities to streamline the recruitment process and enhance hiring outcomes. Representing the company in a compelling way to attract talent and ensure alignment with our culture and values. Proactively identifying and attending industry events, meetups, and conferences to build pipelines and strengthen our employer brand. Staying on top of changes in the talent market, including (but not limited to) trends in compensation, advances in technology, and changes in regulation. Maintaining a presence on social media representing our employer brand. Qualifications You’re a people‑person who excels at building strong relationships with both candidates and stakeholders. You take the time to understand their needs and leverage your data‑driven insights and expertise to guide and influence the recruitment process. You care about quality over quantity. You operate with a sense of urgency, but prefer to do a few things really well than dozens of things with split attention. Your consistent communication ensures that candidates feel engaged and stakeholders are always informed and aligned. You bring the same energy and enthusiasm we look for in our hires, showing up with passion, curiosity, and a genuine excitement for connecting great people with meaningful work. You have 5+ years of full‑cycle recruitment experience, ideally including time at an agency, and have successfully hired across a range of technical and non‑technical roles. Experience recruiting in SaaS is an asset but not required. You bring a strong network of talent and know how to tap into it. You stay informed on industry trends, technology and best practices in talent acquisition, continuously enhancing recruitment processes to improve the candidate experience and drive success. You’re scrappy and solutions focused – if you haven’t done something before, you’re resourceful and do what it takes to figure it out. As a member of our People and Culture team, you connect deeply with our core values and are excited about embodying and amplifying them every day. You’re organized and detail‑oriented. You’re tech savvy and can quickly learn our HR tech stack. Benefits An incredibly exciting and rare opportunity to be an early employee building out the people function at a rapidly growing company. We are flexible The office in downtown Toronto is available for occasional visits, and you’ll have the opportunity to work from home most of the time. Competitive base salaries and stock options. You’ll play a crucial role in our growth, and it’s important to us that you share in our long‑term success. We care about you as a whole person. You’ll have a healthy work/life balance and colleagues who respect it. We’ve mindfully put together a great benefits package that covers you and your family. We’ve got an amazing team. We’re mission‑driven and motivated by success, but we’re friendly, collaborative, and care about each other. We’ve built a culture where you can pickleball, feel safe to be yourself, and watch your career grow because the team has invested in you. Interview Process We anticipate a high volume of applicants for this role and are excited to grow our team. To help us review applications fairly and efficiently, we will only be reviewing applications that include responses to the application questions. A human will review each complete application and get back to you as soon as possible. Step 1: Chat with Natalie, our GTM Talent Acquisition Manager Step 2: Meet Deb, our Director of Talent Acquisition Step 3: Case study – show us how you think through real challenges Step 4: Connect with Mat, our VP of Customer Success (to get a sense of the culture of leaders you’ll be partnering with) Step 5: Wrap up with Ben, our CEO Compensation The base pay range for this role is CA$100,000 – CA$130,000 per year. Seniority Level Mid‑Senior level Employment Type Full‑time Job Function Human Resources Industries Software Development Equal Opportunity Employer We believe our strength is built on diversity of thought, and encourage candidates from all backgrounds and experiences to apply.
