Role Summary The purpose of this role is to provide effective Human Resources services to support the attraction, growth, development, retention, and motivation for over 200 employees at multiple restaurant locations. This position is responsible for staffing, training, performance management, employee relations, health and safety, and compliance with policies and legislative requirements. This position works closely with the Operations Manager and other management team members on a regular basis. The work schedule is full-time, flexible, and is dependent on the needs of the business. This is a salaried position based on experience. Must have access to a vehicle to visit multiple locations . Skills & Qualifications required: Must have Human Resources Management diploma, relevant bachelor's degree in Human Resources or equivalent of experience Post-Secondary Education in Human Resource Management from a recognized educational institution; Two (2) years recent related HR experience; Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills (written & verbal) Ability to interact with all levels of the organization Issue management skills including conflict management, organization, and problem solving/decision making skills Tech savvy, the ability to use various software such as Microsoft Office and Excel Exceptional relationship building skills; Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; Excellent judgment required to provide sound direction and advice on a variety of human resources issues; Knowledge of employment/labour laws and general human resources policies and procedures; Experience working with information and data management systems an asset; Excellent communicator with a strong command of written and spoken English; French language skills considered an asset; Position Responsibilities Create, organize, maintain, and coordinate employee and office records and files; Locate filed materials upon request, ensuring that materials are given only to authorized parties; Prepare Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents as directed; Proofread HR-related documents; Audit HR policies and procedures in place and provide suggestions on updates and/or improvements; Assist with regular research and compliance initiatives regarding HR issues; Maintain current knowledge of HR systems and tools, and demonstrate an ability to access required information; Provide appropriate guidance and support to employees to ensure proper use of HR systems; Working with the restaurants to ensure training is effective and completed properly for each new hire; Coaching and advising restaurant management teams on employee relations, proper practices and legislative requirements; Health & Safety management; Assist in deploying change initiatives through education and training for staff and restaurant management; Workforce planning, anticipate restaurant needs and help management teams execute objectives; Working with the restaurants to manage employee communication, employee engagement, and employee initiatives; Managing Clearview system and conducting training to new users; Maintaining policy binders and updating as required; Assisting / Completing payroll; Responsible for ensuring all restaurants are staffed properly with the right people at the right time; Assisting restaurants to meet hiring needs by posting job ads, screening resumes, attending job fairs, conducting interviews, reference checks and hiring candidates; Conducting orientation and onboarding for all new staff members; Supplying uniforms to new staff members and arranging training with the restaurants; Special projects and other duties as required; McDonald's is an equal opportunity employer.
