**Nasittuq provides Operation & Maintenance services for the North Warning System (NWS). The NWS is a joint Canada and United States early-warning radar system with 47 sites located in Northern Canada; a Control Centre and Support Centre located in North Bay, ON and a Contract Management Office located in Ottawa, ON.**

As a key member of the HR team, the Human Resources Generalist is a seasoned, self-motivated and organized individual that will lead and participate in all human resources activities, both day to day activities as well as leading various projects. This is a full-time permanent position based in Ottawa, ON with a hybrid work environment (in office minimum 2 days per week).

**Responsibilities**:

- Research, draft and implement Human Resources policies and procedures
- Support all HR administrative processes: benefits administration, auditing, performance management, employee relations, exit interviews, running reports as required
- Work with HR Manager to streamline and improve HR processes and programs
- Working closely with team leaders to develop up to date job descriptions for all positions
- Lead the annual compensation and performance review processes
- Provide guidance to employees and managers on all HR policies, procedures and collective bargaining agreement questions and matters
- Provide administrative support for labour relations - draft MOUs, conduct research, maintain minutes of LR meetings
- Coordinate the Pay Equity program
- Assist in other various other projects, initiatives and requirements
- Will provide backup support for onboarding, offboarding and recruitment activities as required

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, or other relevant field and 5+ years experience in a similar HR Generalist role
- Demonstrated strong working knowledge with HR policy & legislation (federally regulated) and HR best practices
- Demonstrated labour relations experience
- Must be able to work effectively in a team and be self-motivated to meet results, deadlines and timelines
- Adaptability and ability to manage priorities with attention to detail and work cross-culturally
- Self-motivated, strong hands-on work ethic
- Exceptional working knowledge of MS Office
- Excellent business writing skills (English) and effective verbal communication skills
