Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team. As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving the growth and profitability of our trucking company by identifying and securing new business opportunities. You will play a vital role in expanding our customer base and fostering strong relationships with key clients. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for analyzing market trends, identifying new opportunities and creating business plans to achieve the company's growth and revenue targets. The ideal candidate will have experience in the transportation industry and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to achieve growth targets, increase market share, and enhance brand visibility.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through research, prospecting, networking, and lead generation activities.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline by consistently identifying and qualifying potential clients.
  • Conduct market analysis and competitor research to identify trends, market opportunities, and areas for growth.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, finance, and marketing, to develop tailored solutions and proposals for clients.
  • Deliver persuasive sales presentations and negotiations to secure new contracts and partnerships.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in the industry.
  • Track and report on sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities to the management team.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, regulations, and emerging trends to proactively identify business opportunities and risks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of at least 5 years of successful business development experience in the trucking or transportation industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of the trucking industry, including market dynamics, trends, and key players.
  • Strong network of contacts and relationships within the trucking and logistics industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, nurture, and close sales opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate value propositions and negotiate contracts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools.
