Position Summary We are seeking a thoughtful, experienced, and principled leader to join our team as Director of Admissions and Accreditation. Reporting to the CEO, this role oversees education programs across the full member lifecycle and provides oversight of admissions and accreditation. As the Director of Admissions and Accreditation, you'll provide strategic and operational leadership over AIC's program of studies, admissions pathways, accreditation processes, and continuing professional development, ensuring alignment with CUSPAP, best-in-class professional standards, and the evolving needs of the Canadian valuation profession. Key Responsibilities and Duties Strategic Leadership Provide overall leadership and accountability for AIC's program of studies, admissions pathways, accreditation framework, and professional development ecosystem. Ensure AIC's credentialing and education programs maintain public credibility, regulatory defensibility, and professional relevance. Translate AIC's strategic plan into multi-year workplans, budgets, performance metrics, and operational priorities for education and accreditation functions. Proactively identify risks, gaps, and opportunities within the admissions and accreditation framework and recommend improvements to senior leadership and volunteer governance bodies. Program Oversight & Development Collaborate with AIC staff, subject matter experts, and volunteer committees to design, update, and continuously improve education programs for Students, Candidates, and Members. Provide strategic oversight of course development, delivery models, assessment methodologies, and instructional quality. Ensure education programs reflect current valuation practices, evolving market conditions, professional ethics, and emerging industry trends. Oversee the consistent application of AIC education policies and procedures. Provide senior oversight of AIC's admissions, candidacy progression, designation, and accreditation processes, ensuring fairness, transparency, and consistency. Support and guide the Admissions and Accreditation Working Committee (AAWC), ensuring effective committee governance, decision-making, and policy alignment. Participate in the development, review, and implementation of education policies, accreditation criteria, including alignment with CUSPAP and professional standards. Ensure accreditation processes reinforce ethical conduct, professional competence, and public trust. Governance, Policy & Stakeholder Engagement Serve as a trusted advisor to volunteer leaders on education and accreditation matters. Liaise with provincial affiliate associations to ensure national consistency while respecting regional operational realities. Manage relationships with external vendors, educators, and service providers supporting AIC's education and accreditation programs. Monitor and interpret emerging trends, regulatory developments, and professional best practices, ensuring AIC remains forward-looking and credible. Education and Experience Prior experience in education delivery, curriculum development, competency benchmarking, professional accreditation, or mentorship. Minimum 10 years of progressive experience within the appraisal profession or similar organizations. Core Competencies Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to apply sound, independent judgment. Proven ability to work effectively within volunteer-driven governance environments. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High level of professional integrity, discretion, and ethical judgment. Demonstrated people leadership and team development capabilities. Strong project management, prioritization, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple initiatives while meeting deadlines in a complex stakeholder environment. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, appraisal software, and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence tools. Preferred Qualifications Bilingualism (English/French) Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute (AACI) and Canadian Residential Appraiser (CRA) Member in good standing. Demonstrated expertise across a broad range of appraisal assignments, including residential and non-residential valuation. Deep knowledge of CUSPAP, professional ethics, and Canadian real estate market dynamics. Measures of Success Demonstrated impartiality, fairness, and integrity in decision-making. Strong leadership and consensus-building skills. Ability to build trust with Members, staff, and stakeholders. Commitment to advancing professionalism and protecting the public interest.
