The opportunity As a Senior Scientific Director & Team Lead within our Envision Medical Communications team, you will provide strategic scientific leadership across complex, high‑profile accounts while guiding and developing a talented team of medical writers. In addition to broad medical‑communications experience, we are seeking someone with strong publications experience to support increased publication needs across our accounts. We are accepting applications from candidates based permanently in the US (Eastern or Central time zones) or Ontario, Canada. We support both remote and hybrid working from one of our office locations. How will you make an impact at Envision Pharma Group? Role responsibilities Lead Scientific Strategy & Client Partnerships Act as the scientific lead across assigned accounts, partnering closely with Account Management. Build strong relationships with clients, external experts, and cross‑functional teams. Drive strategic, scientific, and tactical planning to support client objectives. Develop High‑Quality Scientific Content Apply expert knowledge of therapeutic areas, product landscapes, compliance guidance, and market trends. Create and review high‑quality, accurate, and strategically aligned scientific content across multiple formats and channels. Contribute to scientific strategy development and deliver presentations or onsite support as needed. Manage & Develop Your Team Line manage a team of 4–6 scientific writers, supporting their growth, well‑being, and performance. Provide coaching, training, and development planning. Build a positive and high‑performing team culture. Oversee project execution and delivery within timelines and budgets. Partner with internal teams on project specifications, resourcing, and budgets. Support strong adherence to processes, SOPs, and quality standards. Support Business Growth Contribute scientific expertise to proposals, pitches, and new business opportunities. Identify new opportunities through client interactions and market awareness. Qualifications Do you have what we are looking for? 8–10+ years of experience in medical communications (publications + non‑pub preferred). Demonstrated scientific expertise across therapeutic areas and ability to learn new areas quickly. Proven ability to interpret and communicate complex scientific data. Experience with key industry tools (e.g., reference management software, Datavision, Zinc, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat). Previous line management and account leadership experience—ideally managing a global or remote team. Excellent communication, project leadership, and stakeholder‑management skills. A collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive within a global, multidisciplinary environment. The provided salary range reflects the potential base salary for this role in the United States, considering factors such as your professional and academic experience, training, and role responsibilities.
