What do we need
We are seeking an Associate Scientific Product Manager with a scientific background such as an education in Chemistry or Biology to support feature delivery, product quality, and continuous improvement for scientific solutions built on Dotmatics LUMA, a next-generation, multi-tenant, AI-powered data management and workflow automation platform for multimodal scientific discovery.
In this role, you will partner closely with other Product Managers, Application Scientists, engineering, UX, and go-to-market teams to contribute to user-centric product enhancements. You will help shape how scientists interact with modern data and workflow systems by supporting problem definition, analyzing scientific workflows to understand how software can best support them, contributing to clear requirements, and helping ensure that work moves effectively from concept to production.
In this role you will get to
- Provide in-depth scientific knowledge on supported workflows and assist wider team in understanding scientific context of software features
- Assist in testing and refining ideas by gathering usability feedback, reviewing prototypes, and supporting small experiments (e.g., simple A/B tests) under the guidance of senior PMs.
- Research and stay up to date with with scientific methodologies, particularly related to biologic therapeutics discovery and development
- Gather and analyze basic product usage data, customer insights, and market signals to help inform prioritization and contribute to data-driven product decisions.
- Assist senior Product Managers in writing clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria that support feature delivery for the squad.
- Work with customer-facing teams to learn about user workflows and pain points, incorporating this feedback into tasks and feature refinements with direction from more experienced PMs.
- Support UX/UI partners by reviewing wireframes and design concepts and ensuring they align with product standards, raising questions or gaps to senior PMs.
- Take ownership of well-defined tasks or smaller feature components, contributing to delivery from scoping through release with support and guidance.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, QA, design, and GTM partners to clarify requirements, maintain alignment, and help ensure smooth execution of assigned work.
- Incorporate customer and stakeholder feedback into product adjustments, prioritizing fixes or enhancements that address meaningful user needs with team guidance.
- Participate in product strategy discussions by sharing observations, data, and learnings from your area of work to support roadmap thinking.
We are looking for people who have a degree or higher (Masters, PhD) in Biology and at least 1 year working in a commercial setting/with scientific software or working in the lab with complex scientific software acting as an administrator for the software or in a scientific support capacity for the software. You will bring strong analytical skills with a proven ability to break down straightforward problems and communicate clearly with the team.
The key skills we are looking for:
- Advanced experience in biologic research workflows
- Familiarity with UX tools (e.g., Figma) and ability to collaborate with design partners to support intuitive user flows.
- Developing expertise in a scientific or technical product domain, with the ability to apply fundamental knowledge in straightforward situations.
- Experience contributing to scientific data platforms, workflow tools, ETL, APIs, or data modeling under guidance from more senior team members.
- Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools (Jira, Confluence), with experience helping move user stories through the development process.
- Ability to assist in writing clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements with support from senior Product Managers.
- Growing ability to understand basic trade-offs, navigate ambiguity in well-defined contexts, and adjust to evolving priorities with guidance.
You may also have:
- Passion for improving user experience and contributing to product quality through continuous iteration.
- Exposure to instrument integration, data ingestion pipelines, or multi-tenant / low-code systems
- Experience with biologic therapeutic development
