Our client is a leading Canadian Food Manufacturer, and they have partnered with Lock Search Group to recruit for a Territory Manager to join the team. This is a home-based position with flexibility of working from a home office environment, when not dealing with clients within the Okanagan. They are looking for someone with a hunting mentality, People Management and Proven Sales Experience, ideally in CPG Space (Food/Alcohol/Consumer Goods).


The Territory Manager's main role is to maintain existing business relationships while targeting new opportunities. This includes managing a regular call cycle within a designated geographic area, optimizing product placement, and identifying growth potential within the current client base. Additional responsibilities involve seeking out new business, introducing and placing new and seasonal products, and coordinating in-store promotions and features.


Responsibilities:


  • Continuously analyze customer sales performance and present business reviews to key accounts.
  • Manage an efficient and cost-effective call cycle within a designated geographic area.
  • Communicate promotional volume estimates, forecasts, and relevant information to the sales manager and related departments such as customer service and distribution.
  • Oversee the placement and upkeep of point-of-sale materials.
  • Submit call visit reports, expense reports, and other required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Maximize product availability within the existing client base by effectively presenting and placing relevant products.
  • Analyze competitor pricing strategies and activities.
  • Engage in ongoing cold calling and solicitation to generate new business opportunities.
  • Plan and coordinate in-store features and promotional activities in cycles to drive sales growth.
  • Assess customer viability and assist in collecting outstanding balances.
  • Apply a professional approach to resolving customer conflicts effectively.
  • Attend and actively participate in trade shows and special events.


Qualifications:


  • Prefer a University Degree or Technical Certificate (Business, Marketing or related field)
  • 3-5 Years working within a sales capacity
  • Preference for previous working within the CPG space(Food, Bev, Alcohol, Cannabis, Consumer Goods)
  • Strong relationship building, communication and time management skills
  • Clear understanding of markets, sales & distribution, competitor activity, consumer & shopper behavior, category management & business insights in the CPG context
  • Ability to communicate strategic vision, and execute on plans
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, innovative thinking with a high sense of urgency
  • Commitment to quality
  • Time/Priority Management Skills
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills to establish and maintain good business relations with customers
  • Demonstrated ability in adapting to fast pace sales environment, managing change and thriving in high energy atmosphere
  • Must have a Valid Drivers licence
