Role Responsibilities The Condominium Dispute Resolution Tribunal’s mandate is to provide timely, fair, and independent dispute resolution services, consistent with relevant legislation, regulations, bylaws, rules, guidelines, and the principles of natural justice. The quasi‑judicial Tribunal administers dispute resolution services for condominium corporations and owners in relation to specific matters of jurisdiction as set out in regulation, and in accordance with the Condominium Property Act, Condominium Property Regulation, and the new Condominium Dispute Resolution Tribunal Regulation as well as condominium corporation bylaws and rules. Reporting to the Manager, Dispute Resolution and Hearings, the Case Officers are responsible for the effective and efficient case management of all cases accepted by the Tribunal for early dispute resolution and adjudication services related to the condominium sector. Key Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To Providing effective and efficient case management for all cases accepted by the Tribunal. Monitoring and facilitating guided negotiations and monitoring mediations meetings, including the scheduling of sessions/meetings and addressing technical issues during sessions/meetings. Scheduling, booking facilities and notifying parties and witnesses to facilitate timely adjudication hearings. Facilitating the drafting of agreements and decisions, including the review of documents, editing, providing feedback to the Tribunal Chair and Tribunal members and coordinating with the Tribunal Legal Officer as necessary. Communicating and interpreting the Tribunal’s mandate, rules, policies and procedures for all parties and stakeholders. Providing support to the Tribunal Chair, the Tribunal members and the Managers across multiple topics, including file pathway transitions, development and delivery of training, and development and maintenance policies and procedures. Creative Problem Solving : Asks questions to gain a deeper understanding of the present issues from multiple perspectives to assess and determine the best path forward. Utilizes different conflict resolution strategies, as needed, to fit with each situation. Reviews case challenges to determine how to mitigate future risk and improve future policy, procedure, or process. Qualifications University graduation in a related field, such as arts, public administration, law or related field supplemented by four years of progressively responsible experience. Following Equivalencies May Be Considered Masters degree and two years of related experience. Two year Diploma in related field and six years related experience. One year Certificate and seven years related experience. No post‑secondary and eight years related experience may be considered. Experience In Case Management And/Or Dispute Resolution Environments Required. Applicants may be asked to provide a writing sample. Experience with quasi‑judicial boards and processes is an asset.
