Role Overview

As a Case Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting newcomer and low-income families by helping them access essential social, legal, and governmental services. You'll conduct assessments, create individualized support plans, and assist clients with programs such as work permits, permanent residency, Alberta Supports, housing, and citizenship applications.

Key Responsibilities

✓ Conduct intake assessments to identify client needs and eligibility for various services and benefits.

✓ Provide crucial assistance with applications for work permits, permanent residency, citizenship, and related immigration processes.

✓ Support families in accessing critical resources like Alberta Supports, social welfare programs, and government housing.

✓ Deliver ongoing case management, including follow-up, client advocacy, and effective referrals to community service providers.

✓ Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely documentation and case notes in compliance with all organizational and legal requirements.

✓ Collaborate effectively with internal staff, community agencies, and government partners to ensure a coordinated service approach.

✓ Facilitate workshops for newcomers on essential services.

✓ Monitor client progress and adjust plans for long-term stability

✓ Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and organizational planning initiatives.

Qualifications

Diploma or degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience working with newcomers, refugees, or vulnerable populations.

Knowledge of immigration processes and Alberta social support systems.

Strong communication and cross-cultural skills.

Proficiency in MS Office and case management software.

Multilingual abilities are an asset.

Work Conditions

Part-time (25 hours/week), mix of office and community-based work.

Occasional evenings or weekends may be required.
