Cafe Manager – Poured Coffee Poured Coffee is a family‑owned, independent coffee shop focused on sustainability, quality coffee, thoughtful sourcing, and strong community values. This role requires a full‑time, in‑person position in Toronto, offering hourly pay of $21.00 plus a $500 monthly stipend. Job Details Full‑time In‑person $21.00 per hour $500 monthly management stipend Minimum 32 hours per week behind the bar (weekdays and weekends required) Key Responsibilities Work a minimum of 32 hours per week on the café floor, serving customers and supporting daily operations. Open and close the café as required. Ensure consistent coffee quality, food prep standards, and cleanliness. Maintain health & safety and sanitation standards. Hire, train, and lead baristas. Create staff schedules, manage time‑off requests, and ensure shift coverage. Provide coaching, feedback, and corrective action when necessary. Foster a positive and accountable team culture. Order all café inventory, including coffee beans, milk & dairy alternatives, syrups, food ingredients, energy drinks, paper goods, and supplies. Monitor inventory levels, minimize waste, and manage costs. Oversee daily and preventative maintenance of café equipment (espresso machines, grinders, brewers, dishwashers, refrigerators, etc.). Identify equipment issues early and contact ownership for major malfunctions. Coordinate service calls and maintenance appointments as needed. Manage weekly staff schedules. Respond to customer emails, messages, and online reviews professionally. Post important café updates (hours, closures, seasonal drinks) via in‑store signage and social media. Support seasonal menu launches and operational changes. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years’ prior café or restaurant management experience (specialty coffee experience preferred). Comfortable leading from the bar in a fast‑paced environment. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to multitask and problem‑solve independently.
