The H&S Coordinator will be responsible for administering health and safety policies and procedures, training and advice regarding health and safety issues, legislation and occupational policy.Overall, you will assist in the maintenance of occupational health and safety prevention initiatives.Location & Commitments16904 - 137 AvenueEdmonton, AB T5V 0C8ResponsibilitiesCoordinates and champions health and safety activities and trainingReviews and analyzes functional safety activities and programs to determine training requirements for safety; Prepares a training matrix and schedule to ensure mandatory training needs meet legislative complianceCoordinates incident investigations and provides effective follow-up for corrective actionsPromotes a proactive safety strategy and ensures worker safety and cost containment for all claimsAssists in managing WCB disability claims and modified return to work programsEnsures adherence to regulated and documented safety standards, including conducting monthly inspections, hazard analysis, and periodic audits as well as identifying and assigning corrective actions for workplace hazards noted during property inspectionsMonitors and evaluates occupational health and safety programs to ensure compliance with applicable provincial regulationsCoordinates meetings and assists with Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC)Produces weekly and monthly reportingQualificationsEnrolled in or completed OH&S certificate program; post-secondary education in business, human resources or related field are considered assetsMinimum of 1 year related experienceAbility to work autonomously with minimal supervisionSolid computer skills including MS OfficeKnowledge of applicable OH&S and WCB policyMotivated, well organized, and able to make sound decisionsStrong customer focus, results oriented, and able to work with multiple conflicting priorities and timelinesWhy The Brick?Apply nowThe Brick is committed to fair and accessible employment practices and will accommodate people with disabilities throughout the recruitment, application, and selection process.
