**Primary Purpose of Position**:
Priestly Demolition is seeking a motivated Health & Safety Coordinator to join our team on a six-month contract for the demolition of a biofuel facility in Edmonton. This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in maintaining compliance and fostering a strong safety culture on a high-profile industrial demolition project. The Health & Safety Coordinator will support the planning, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of occupational health and safety programs throughout the project. This role ensures compliance with applicable regulations, internal policies, and industry best practices, while actively promoting a proactive safety culture in a demolition environment. This position will be on site.

**Job Duties**- Develop, implement, and maintain health & safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments specific to demolition activities.
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and safety concerns; prepare reports, root cause analyses, and corrective action plans.
- Facilitate training, toolbox talks, orientations, and safety meetings for staff, contractors, and subcontractors on-site.
- Monitor and report on safety performance metrics; recommend and track improvements.
- Support safety planning and permitting during all demolition phases.
- Collaborate with project managers, site superintendents, and operations teams to integrate safety into all aspects of work.
- Manage and maintain safety documentation, permits, and regulatory reporting for the duration of the contract.
- Provide guidance and oversight for personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, inspections, and usage.
- Assist with salvaging materials and documentation.

Position Requirements

**Requirements**:
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or related field.
Certified Health & Safety designation (e.g., CRSP, CSP, NEBOSH, or equivalent).
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a safety role, preferably within demolition, industrial, or construction projects.
Strong knowledge of provincial/federal occupational health and safety legislation and regulations.
Experience with demolition safety hazards, risk assessments, and environmental considerations an asset.
Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with safety management systems, incident management, and reporting software.
Ability to work on-site in Edmonton throughout the contract term.
