Our client is a leader in logistics and shipping. We are looking for a Senior Technical Business Analyst to join their team and drive data-centric projects, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical solutions.


Job Description:


We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Technical Business Analyst to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in data modeling, database schema design, SQL, and system integrations, and will work closely with both business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver high-quality, data-driven solutions.

As a Senior Technical Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in understanding complex business requirements, analyzing data, and translating those requirements into technical solutions. You will be responsible for designing and optimizing data models, ensuring seamless database integration, and providing strategic insights through data analysis.


Key Responsibilities:


Data Modeling & Database Design :


  • Design and implement data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) to support business processes and data architecture.
  • Develop and optimize complex database schemas, ensuring data integrity, scalability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with data architects and engineers to establish best practices in data modeling and storage.


SQL Expertise :


  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
  • Ensure the effective use of SQL within business intelligence (BI) tools and analytics platforms.
  • Conduct performance tuning of SQL queries and troubleshoot data issues.


System Integrations :


  • Experience working with teams responsible for the design and implementation of system integrations between various platforms (e.g., ERP, CRM, external APIs).
  • Collaborate with technical teams to define integration requirements and manage data flow across systems.
  • Oversee the development of data interfaces, ensuring smooth and reliable data exchange.


Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering :


  • Work closely with business stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritize functional and technical requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications for development teams.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to ensure alignment between business and technical teams.


Data Quality & Reporting :


  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and quality of data used across systems.
  • Develop data validation strategies and participate in data quality assurance.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed to support business decision-making.


Stakeholder Management :


  • Serve as a liaison between business units, technical teams, and external partners to ensure that business objectives are met.
  • Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly and effectively.


Documentation & Training :


  • Create detailed technical documentation and user guides for business teams.
  • Provide training and support to users on data-related processes, tools, and systems.


Required Skills and Qualifications:


  • 10+ years of experience in a business analyst or technical analyst role with a focus on data modeling, database design, and system integrations.
  • Proven track record of delivering data-centric solutions in complex environments.
  • Proficiency in data modeling techniques (e.g., ERD, normalization, star schema).
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases and database schema design.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL for query writing, performance tuning, and data manipulation.
  • Experience with system integrations, APIs, and data interfaces.
  • Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and data analysis tools.


Business Acumen :


  • Strong ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and define project scope.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and strategically.


Communication Skills :


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to document processes and technical specifications clearly and concisely.


Education :


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).
