Job Number: JR Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic, Plant Maintenance Job Category: Service Hospital Location: Centenary Site Job Type: Permanent, Part time Number of Positions: 1 Union: CUPE Hourly Rate: $34.254 - $36.172 Hours: All Shifts Responsibilities Provide a safe and comfortable environment for patients, visitors and staff by maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment related to hospital operations. Participate in a rotating on-call program and respond to facility or community emergencies as required. Install, replace and maintain water, sewer and other systems/equipment. Perform general maintenance tasks and other duties as assigned. Requirements Valid red seal trade license with applicable experience. Twelve (12) months post-ticket experience in an industrial/institutional/commercial maintenance environment. Minimum 3 years of recent experience in a similar role. Familiar with TSSA, CSA Standards, and hospital equipment manuals. Valid basic (G Class) driver's license. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite with accurate keyboarding skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service approach. Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines and adapt to changing demands. Self-directed with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Good organizational skills and attention to detail. Positive team-based skills. Understanding of and commitment to SHN's safety programs and practices, including staff, patient and environmental safety; participation in in-service education. Commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and the public. Demonstrated pattern of good attendance. This position is required to work weekends. Asset Extensive knowledge of hospital infrastructure, including mechanical systems and HVAC equipment. Drywall repairs and painting experience. Physical Demands Constant standing and walking, with use of stairs or ladders. Exposure to extreme temperatures and noise.
