OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our manufacturing team. If you are someone who likes working with your hands, fix machines and take things apart, then we are looking for you Located in the heart of the industrial area in Kennedy and 401. This is a full-time position for 40 hours a week with extra hours as required. This position is available immediately should you meet the requirements. Job Type: Temporary - Ongoing Location: Scarborough, ON Pay Rate: $28.00/hour to $33.00/hour Responsibilities Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve equipment failures as well as perform periodic inspections of equipment and systems Perform mechanical repair & maintenance activities throughout the plant on equipment and facilities. Motors, hydraulics & pneumatic systems, bearings & gearboxes. Water heating and cooling systems. Reading blueprints and schematics. Equipment installations & rigging. Welding & fabrication. Utilize Root Cause Analysis and Continuous Improvement to maximize equipment output and processes Execute preventative maintenance activities including troubleshooting and repairs to all production equipment, hydraulic systems and pumps in a timely manner Utilize the computerized maintenance management system for processing work orders, PM’s and updating the equipment databases Support divisional and corporate objectives including health & safety, productivity, continuous improvement, innovation, quality, and waste Qualifications Exceptional mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Energetic and enthusiastic approach with the ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills Knowledgeable of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and possesses a strong safety focus · Available and flexible to work in a fast paced environment, be self-driven to meet or exceed targets and work a flexible schedule that includes planned, unplanned and on-call shifts Experience with electronics & PLCs. AC & DC motors and controls an asset. Ability to operate specialized vehicles such as forklifts, scissor lifts, etc. Other duties as assigned. Industrial Maintenance Mechanic/ Certified Industrial Millwright 433A (Red Seal ticket) is nice to have but not a requirement or experience in the field. Experience in Welding is a must. 3+ years of work experience preferably in a manufacturing environment Clean drivers abstract. Physically fit & able to negotiate inclines, stairs and ladders able to perform physically demanding activities while working in all types of extreme hot environments, both indoors and outdoors. The job requires bending, kneeling, crawling, stooping, and standing for long periods of time. Must be physically able to push, pull, and lift 50 lbs. Working in conditions may include exposure to noise, dust. Willingness to work extended hours when and where required, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Verbal and written communication skills in English Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and able to work full time hours as required by this position.
