OverviewMaintenance Millwright Mechanic role at Atlantic Packaging Products Ltd.Primary Purpose: Ensure operation of mechanical systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and troubleshooting problems on conveyors and machinery, using manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, etc.Key AccountabilitiesMaintenance: Focus on minimizing downtime through preventive maintenance and effective troubleshooting techniques.Prepare maintenance reports and make recommendations for improvements as necessary.Maintain technical knowledge by attending education workshops.Repair and replace pumps, valves, motors, etc., as required.Quality ControlPerform quality checks on all work performed.Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with health and safety and housekeeping practices, and using personal protective equipment.Prepare maintenance reports and recommend improvements as necessary.Other ResponsibilitiesMaintain documentation as required by Atlantic PackagingUtilize documentation in CMMSInstall new machines and equipmentContribute to team effort by accomplishing related results and other duties as assignedInform production workers of routine mechanical preventive maintenance plansRequired QualificationsEducationMust have a valid Ontario Industrial Mechanic License - 433ARed Seal Journeyman certificationExperienceMinimum 2–3 years of previous experience in a manufacturing environmentExposure to mechanical devices, pneumatic controls and welding/cuttingAll-position welding preferred (stainless steel pipe, guard repairs, etc.)Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesTroubleshooting skillsGood communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with all employeesAbility to read mechanical drawingsNature and ScopeImpact: Responsible for completing preventive maintenance requirements and troubleshooting problems on conveyorsContacts: Internal and externalLeadership/Level of Responsibility: Coaching and directingFreedom to Act/Decision-Making Authority: Makes decisions to ensure operation of mechanical systems and equipmentPhysical and Sensory Demands: Attention to detail and walkingWorking Environment: Plants and millsAtlantic Packaging is dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where all colleagues and customers feel valued and supported.
