BBYO across Canada is growing rapidly and is now the largest Jewish teen platform nationally, with a focus on Alberta and Saskatchewan. The Northwest Canada Region aims to expand engagement and impact so Canadian Jewish teens have the skills, networks, and knowledge to lead Canadian and global Jewish communities in the future. Note: The region is named ‘Northwest Canada’, but its impact area is Alberta and Saskatchewan. Over the last few years, BBYO has united with Jewish community leaders, partners, parents, and alumni to lift Northwest Canada to new heights. BBYO is seeking a full-time Associate Regional Director to lead the region through its next evolution, partnering with colleagues, volunteers, and teens to ensure BBYO provides a best-in-class experience that is meaningful, transformative, fun, and professional. This BBYO Northwest Canada team member will strengthen strategic partnerships with the Calgary JCC, Edmonton Jewish Federation, Calgary Jewish Federation, and Beth Tzedec Congregation by leading engagement strategies year-round across campuses, schools, community venues, and programs like the JCC Maccabi Games. What you’ll get to do as our Associate Regional Director Work with teens to create impactful, fun and dynamic programs including large-scale community projects and overnight conventions each year Mentor teens and volunteer advisors to build strong, vibrant teen-led chapters across AB, SK Work directly with teens to expand BBYO’s membership and impact regionally Build, sustain, and evolve meaningful partnerships and networks in the community Attend summer camp and BBYO global convenings Develop and manage programming, oversee program budgets, and grow management skills Empower and inspire teens and volunteer advisors through mentorship, coaching, and training Lead on building relationships with local schools to strengthen BBYO and JCC/community brand visibility with under-affiliated and unaffiliated Jewish teens Cultivate relationships with existing stakeholders to ensure positive allyship with groups such as Edmonton Jewish Federation, Calgary JCC, NWC BBYO Society, Menorah Foundation, Saskatoon BB Lodge What You’ll Learn As Our Associate Regional Director A wide array of non-profit skills including budgeting, membership, marketing, sales, human resources, event planning and more How to track and analyze business metrics, negotiate contracts, and build partnerships How to work with a global team and across organizational and geographical boundaries Relationship building as you network with and travel to other BBYO communities Supervisory skills as you manage a team of colleagues, teens, and volunteers Professionalism and the ability to inspire and influence others to action Role Requirements 1-3 years of work experience (e.g., teen/community programming, event operations) A bachelor’s degree or higher Experience with youth or teens is preferred; experience leading teams or projects is preferred Valid driver’s license required for this position Ability to travel as needed and to staff a summer leadership program at a location in North America for 2-3 weeks each summer, attend International Convention (every February), and BBYO Staff Conference, as well as other opportunities Ability to work non-traditional hours (nights and weekends) when teens are available Speaking additional languages such as Russian, Hebrew, French, or others is a plus Compensation and Benefits Compensation will be commensurate based on experience (tentative range of $50,000 to $62,500).
