JOB SUMMARY

Join the dynamic team at Northern Fitness in our journey to transform the fitness retail landscape As the Retail Manager at our soon-to-be-opened South Etobicoke Flagship store, your leadership will be crucial in shaping our retail presence. This role is about more than managing operations; it’s about embodying our passion for fitness and delivering an unmatched customer experience.

We’re searching for a leader with an energetic personality, ready to inject enthusiasm and drive into our team. You’ll be at the forefront of promoting our diverse range of fitness products and services, requiring excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of fitness concepts and equipment. Additionally, you'll lead community-building efforts through events, and partnerships, strengthening our local presence and brand loyalty.

Your role will demand superior relationship-building skills, critical for effective interaction with customers through both verbal and written communications. Your ability to connect with our clientele will significantly influence their experience and contribute to our brand’s success.

The ideal candidate should be able to quickly adapt to various systems, handle tasks with exceptional attention to detail, and manage multiple priorities with ease. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leadership and People Management:
  • Hire, train, and inspire a team committed to our mission, fostering a culture of excellence, support, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct performance reviews and develop develop staff growth and development.

  • Operations:
  • Ensure operational excellence, including SOP adherence for opening/closing, POS and sales process, and store maintenance.
  • Strategically manage merchandising, product selection, and inventory to reflect our brand's innovation and customer needs.
  • Oversee budgeting and financial planning to ensure store profitability.

  • Customer Experience and Community:
  • Enhance customer experience through strategic store layout and personalized service, ensuring every touchpoint reflects our brand's commitment to quality and community.
  • Lead community-building efforts through events, classes, and partnerships, strengthening our local presence and brand loyalty.
  • Develop strategies to enhance customer loyalty, including loyalty programs and collecting customer feedback

  • Sales and Strategy:
  • Implement comprehensive sales training, ensuring our team is well-equipped to meet and surpass sales targets
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and sales data to develop and execute robust sales strategies.
  • Keep updated on industry trends and innovations, ensuring Northern Fitness stays ahead in both product offerings and customer service.
  • Collaborate with marketing to align promotional activities with sales goals, enhancing brand visibility and customer engagement.

MUST HAVES:

  • Proven experience in retail management, ideally within the fitness industry.
  • A genuine interest for fitness, with a sound understanding of fitness equipment and trends.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a top performing team.
  • Strong operational skills, including experience in inventory management, sales forecasting, and SOP implementation.
  • Excellent communication, embodying our brand and engaging diverse customers.
  • Innovative thinker with the ability to strategize and execute sales initiatives to support our company's objectives.
  • Organized, detail oriented, with critical and analytical thinking skills.
  • An energetic personality with a positive and personable demeanor, contributing to a vibrant team atmosphere.
  • Proficient in using cloud-based applications, including Google Workspace, and familiarity with order management systems like Shopify and CRMs such as Copper.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, and beyond standard hours as needed to lead the team to success and support our company’s objectives.

  • Skills in strategic planning, sales strategies, and community engagement
  • Background in planning or community outreach to boost brand presence
