Our client, a fast growing player in the wholesale industry, is currently seeking a Business Development Representative to join their team for a 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for new or recent grads who have a passion for sales and business development to hone their skillsets in a dynamic and rewarding environment


Responsibilities

  • Identifying Prospects: Employing industry analysis, networking avenues, social media platforms, and referrals to pinpoint and investigate potential new clientele within the restaurant domain.
  • Generating Leads: Devising and implementing effective lead generation tactics tailored to captivate and attract the interest of prospective customers.
  • Delivering Sales Presentations: Crafting persuasive sales pitches and proposals customized to address the specific needs of potential clients, emphasizing the value and advantages of our wide-ranging product assortment.
  • Engaging with Clients: Taking the initiative to establish and nurture connections with potential customers through diverse channels such as phone correspondence, emails, and in-person meetings, with a primary emphasis on fostering trust and rapport.
  • Conducting Needs Assessments: Carrying out thorough evaluations of clients' needs to gain insights into their challenges and requirements, and offering tailored solutions to meet their unique needs.
  • Managing the Sales Pipeline: Employing reporting tools to effectively manage and monitor leads, opportunities, and client interactions.
  • Conducting Market Research: Keeping abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and market shifts to identify and seize growth prospects.
  • Providing Reports: Regularly furnishing management with progress updates, sales projections, and strategic observations.
  • Collaborating with Teams: Working closely with interdisciplinary teams, including marketing, operations, and product teams, to synchronize strategies and ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service.
  • Reviewing Current Customer Sales: Analyzing existing sales data, conducting category reviews, and formulating strategies to augment and enhance current sales performance.


Qualifications

  • Completion of College or University Degree or Diploma
  • Work experience in sales, business development or account management is highly valued.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with an aptitude for developing relationships.
  • Thorough understanding of full sales cycle - lead generation, objection handling, negotiation, closing and follow-up.
  • Self-motivated – win clients, manage rejections, persistently work towards individual and team sales goals.


Role & Work Environment

  • Type of Role: Contract 6 months, with possibility of extension (40 hours/week)
  • Work environment (on-site + travel)
  • Travel: Approx 50% or more, Valid driver's license required
  • Compensation: Hourly pay, mileage reimbursement, commission (based on KPIs)
