Position Description Ryder is immediately hiring a permanent full-time Repair Team Lead to ensure excellent craftsmanship at our manufacturing facility in Ontario, California. Compensation and Schedule Hourly Pay: $22.00 per hour Overtime: $33.00 per hour Schedule: Monday through Thursday 4:00am to 2:30pm Equipment and Materials Products Being Handled: Pallets Equipment: Paint, stencils, and hand tools Benefits On the Job Paid Training Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) etc. Start at 30 days Paid Time Off 401(k) offers a company match High valued stock at 15% Employee Discount Employee Discounts that save money on Tools, Cars, Hotels, Electronics/Appliances, Cell Phones, Travel, and much more Safety Gear Provided State of the Art Equipment and Caring Leadership Requirements High school diploma or equivalent 3 years or more in Warehouse/Manufacturing/Production Environment preferred 1 year or more in Construction or Carpentry preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills Able to work within a diverse work environment Highly thorough and dependable Must be punctual and have a good attendance record Performs work independently with minimal supervision Possesses a high degree of initiative Capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8 hour day) Ability to: Work independently and as a team member Be a team player Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors) Comprehend basic math Operate power equipment in a safe manner Lift and/or push/pull up to 70 lbs Twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level, and crouch on a frequent basis Use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements Work at a steady, fast pace while kneeling and/or twisting Follow repair process Important Note Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned. Responsibilities Pallet Repair: Safely and securely repair pallets at a rate that meets company standards and in a manner that meets company safety standards Manually lift 70 lb pallets from a stack to a repair table Operate a pry bar to detach damaged boards from the pallets Operate a grinder and a saw to remove existing nails and use a 25 lb nail gun to nail together the components Quality: Pallet must meet and pass CHEP's quality control audit Safety and Security: Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse Conduct operations in a manner which promotes safety Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards Must wear all safety equipment while repairing pallets Performs duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract Performs other duties as assigned Equal Opportunity Employer Ryder is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free workplace.
