Director, Technical Services (IO) The Director, Technical Services (IO) serves as the counterpart to the IO client Technical Services team lead, bringing BGIS capabilities to ensure IO Technical Services fulfill their mandate. The Director integrates IO account functions with BGIS Professional Services, BGIS Global Critical Environment team, and manages the technical services strategy across the entire IO account. Key Duties & Responsibilities Technical Subject Matter Expertise Research, develop, implement, deploy, and manage the corporate critical environment program for the Infrastructure Ontario account. Lead account team members to meet uptime objectives through operations and maintenance management. Provide leadership, advice, and expertise to meet service level agreements and key performance indicators. Guide development and management of operational plans, reporting, and forecasting. Research technological changes and industry best practices. Represent the client on critical environment standards and maintenance practices. Technical Project Oversight Provide technical engineering and operational expertise to ensure projects align with IO Design Guidelines and industry standards. Lead Technical Services team members and collaborate with BGIS Professional Services and GCET team members on project oversight. Manage processes, controls, and measures to standardize technical services across the IO account. Relationship Management Act as the direct counterpart to the IO account client Technical Services team lead. Represent IO account on BGIS Innovation Councils. Cooperate with site management, client teams, and subcontractors to implement operations and maintenance strategy. Collaborate with BGIS Professional Services and Global Critical Environment Team to research, develop, and deploy industry best practices. Maintain positive relationships with clients at all levels. People Leadership Recruit, mentor, coach, and guide team members to reach their full potential. Recommend compensation adjustments and manage all aspects of performance. Training and Awareness Ensure critical environment leads and personnel are trained and competent for daily operations. Develop and implement critical environment and vital environment awareness programs. Strategy Develop and implement technical services programs across the IO account. Accountable for IO account technical services performance management and value propositions. Maintain and manage critical environment strategy in cooperation with the customer’s team and subcontractors. Quality Assurance Program Execute the quality assurance program and ensure delivery of services meets or exceeds contract requirements. Risk Assessments and Recommendations Provide operational and infrastructure risk assessments for critical environments. Investigate root causes of equipment failures. Recommend upgrades and maintenance routines to reduce unplanned outages. Service Delivery Management Accountable for delivering all client obligations and achieving operational and financial metrics. Ensure compliance with all internal and external requirements. Knowledge & Skills 10+ years experience in mission critical facilities and vital environment operations. University graduation or professional certification (P.Eng, CMA, CGA). Excellent business management, planning, organizing, and analytical skills. Knowledge of BGIS building standards, mission critical procedures, and industry best practices. Skill at implementing critical facilities risk management programs and documenting/training procedures. Strong technical skills in mechanical, electrical, life safety, and security systems. Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation P.Eng preferred; Certified Data Centre Professional, CET (Mechanical or Electrical), HVAC or Electrical Interprovincial Trade license.
