Role Description This is a full-time hybrid role based in Toronto, ON, for a Co-Founder & CTO who will develop and implement the company’s technical strategy, oversee product development, and lead the engineering team. The CTO will ensure platform security and scalability, stay current with technological trends, and represent the company in partnerships and investor relations. The role requires a visionary, hands-on technologist experienced in building secure, scalable financial tech platforms, working closely with the CEO to translate business goals into technical solutions, and engaging with external partners and regulators. Key Responsibilities Co-define and execute the company’slong-term technical vision and roadmap, aligned with business and regulatory objectives Design and overseesecure, scalable, and high-availability system architecturefor financial services platforms Make critical decisions ontechnology stack, infrastructure, cloud services, APIs, and third-party integrations Ensure systems are built withsecurity-by-design, scalability, and regulatory compliance at their core Product Development & Engineering Leadership Lead end-to-endproduct development, from ideation and MVP to production and scale Build, mentor, and manage ahigh-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of ownership and excellence Establishengineering best practices, including CI/CD, code quality, documentation, testing, and performance monitoring Balance speed and quality while delivering reliable, production-grade software Security, Compliance & Risk Ensure compliance withfinancial technology, payments, and MSB regulatory requirements Oversee implementation ofAML, KYC, data privacy, and security frameworks Work closely with compliance, legal, and external auditors to support licensing, audits, and regulatory reviews Proactively managetechnical risk, data protection, and system resilience Business, Grwoth & Go - to -Market Support Collaborate with leadership onsales, partnerships, and go-to-market strategiesfrom a technical perspective Support enterprise and institutional clients withtechnical due diligence, integrations, and solution design Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to maintain a competitive advantage Act as aco-founder and strategic leader, contributing to company-wide decisions beyond technology Represent the company ininvestor meetings, technical due diligence, partner negotiations, and industry events Communicate complex technical concepts clearly tonon-technical stakeholders, investors, and regulators Qualificaitons & Expeirnce Required Stronganalytical, research, and technical problem-solving skills Proven experience leadingtechnology teams and complex, technology-driven projects Deep understanding offinancial technology systems, APIs, and secure transaction platforms Solid knowledge ofMSB, payments, or financial compliance frameworks Excellentcommunication and collaboration skillsacross technical and non-technical teams Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate in afast-paced startup environment Bachelor’s degree or higher inComputer Science, Engineering, or a related field Preferred/Strong Plus Experience building or scalingfintech, payments, remittance, or regulated platforms Exposure tocloud-native architectures, microservices, and high-availability systems Background insales engineering, technical partnerships, or product-led growth Prior startup founding or early-stage leadership experience What we offer Competitive base salary combined with meaningful co-founder equity, offering immediate compensation alongside long-term ownership and upside as the company scales Opportunity tobuild and scale a fintech company from the ground up, with real decision-making authority Direct influenceover product vision, technology strategy, company culture, and growth roadmap Amission-driven environmentfocused on building secure, compliant, and impactful financial technology solutions #J-18808-Ljbffr
