ADP is hiring a Payroll Specialist As a payroll specialist, you'll help our clients leverage ADP’s exceptional business solutions so they can focus on what matters most to them – growing their business. In this role, you will join a high‑performing team in ADP’s Human Resources Outsourcing department that provides support and guidance in response to a wide variety of payroll and tax‑related questions and issues presented by Client Payroll Administrators. You carry the weight of ADP’s service reputation and client satisfaction in your hands. Every day you’ll utilize multiple tools and resources to develop accurate, comprehensive, and friendly responses to clients’ inquiries regarding payroll practices and tax considerations. The nature of what you do will vary, but your #1 goal is to help clients. No shortage of new questions means it stays interesting, and our top‑ranked training will help set you up for success. To thrive in this role, you must be comfortable working in a metrics‑driven environment, eager to learn and adapt to change, and have a way with clients that builds rapport, establishes trust, and shines with professionalism. Your communication style on phone and in writing must be clear and easy for clients to understand and act upon. Pace should not scare you; we also value fun and inclusion. What you’ll do Manage client payroll: fully accountable for payroll and audit functions of multiple clients, oversee scheduling and running of assigned client payrolls, balance payrolls based on the year‑end calendar, remit all third‑party remittances by due dates, and complete all year‑end balancing, filing, and reporting. Serve as the Subject Matter Expert: provide critical and accurate statutory information to clients in the payroll area, such as tax filing, and use knowledge bases, resource materials, and appropriate websites to locate answers and solutions for issues. Problem‑solve: collaborate with internal technical support, various production departments, and additional ADP Service hubs to identify resolutions; provide feedback and suggestions on products, issues, processes, and procedures to enhance efficiency and continuous improvement. Develop knowledge: maintain NPI (National Payroll Institute) designation, attend required departmental training sessions, and demonstrate proficiency in learning. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years Canadian payroll processing experience. Minimum 5 years client service experience. Advanced internet and MS Office skills (Word/Excel). Excellent communication and analytical skills with the ability to translate findings into actionable solutions/processes. Excellent client service skills. Preferred Qualifications Post‑secondary education preferred, or equivalent experience in administration/client service/HR. Candidate should be working towards or have National Payroll Institute (NPI) certification (PCP, CPM); reimbursement programs are available. Benefits & Compensation Base salary offers may vary based on location, skills, and experience. Some positions may include bonus, equity, or commissions.
