Aplin has partnered with a Calgary based company to hire a Chief Technology Officer. Our client is looking for a dynamic leader capable of driving their technology initiatives forward with determination and resilience. As a key member of their executive team, the CTO will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of their organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for all aspects of technology within the organization.
  • Lead a team of over 20 IT professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
  • Oversee the tech support and development teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Directly manage the DevOps team, optimizing our infrastructure and leveraging cloud technologies (AWS).
  • Drive the successful delivery of end-to-end projects, from conception to implementation, ensuring timely and cost-effective outcomes.
  • Maintain compliance with CSAE3000 standards, ensuring that our technology infrastructure meets regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for technology-driven innovation and improvement.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, providing insights and recommendations to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous learning and development, empowering team members to grow and excel in their roles.
  • Champion a customer-centric approach to product development, ensuring that technology solutions meet the needs of our clients and end-users.
  • Leverage software development experience, preferably in PHP, to drive the development of scalable and robust solutions for our products and services.
Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of leadership in a technology-focused role, preferably as a CTO or similar.
  • Strong understanding of software development processes and methodologies.
  • Experience managing large-scale IT teams and driving complex technology projects to successful completion.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, particularly AWS.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to gain the respect and trust of team members and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong sense of urgency and adaptability.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
