This role is a hybrid work arrangement. The work schedule will be discussed with the hiring manager according to the guidelines defined by the department. Your role: As the Senior Advisor you will develop and update policies, standards, procedures and training related to emergency preparedness, business continuity and corporate security, presenting them to the Emergency, Continuity & Security Team (ECST) before submission to senior management. You will also serve as a permanent member of the National Crisis Management Team and act as coordinator to support CBC/Radio‑Canada during a crisis response, working closely with operational and corporate functions and external vendors. Advise the corporation on emergency preparedness, business continuity and corporate security to develop proactive programs that prevent incidents and enable efficient response when incidents occur. Work with departments and support functions to develop recovery steps from key threats to operational continuity, tailoring steps to relevant risks. Chair the ECST team to address related topics and ensure alignment of all groups with corporate goals. Support operational representatives in implementing policies, procedures and standards. Establish and maintain relationships with third‑party vendors to meet emergency preparedness requirements. Develop and provide regular status reports, maintain key performance indicators and dashboards on CBC/Radio‑Canada’s preparedness level. Maintain relationships and communication with the Privy Council Office Crisis Management Cell and coordinate responses to government emergency and security requests. Develop emergency preparedness, business continuity and corporate security training programs for operations and special events, conducting regular exercises and simulations for corporate services including the National Crisis Management Team. Conduct audits and assessments (emergency preparedness, business continuity and security) and recommend appropriate corrective measures and action plans. Develop and implement a security and emergency awareness program for employees. Lead, support and implement health and safety projects, including developing training and supporting Advisors for Health and Safety in Montreal and Toronto. Develop and maintain high‑risk deployment guidelines, training contracts with suppliers, standards, tools, and propose appropriate security measures with the High Risk deployment managers. Participate and provide updates to the national Policy Health and Safety Committee and local Health and Safety Committees. We are looking for a candidate with the following: University diploma in a relevant discipline. At least 10 years of experience in a similar function. Obtaining and maintaining a Business Continuity Professional certification (asset). Excellent knowledge of emergency preparedness, business continuity and corporate security and health and safety. Extensive expertise in structuring, organizing, and managing complex information, and developing and leading training initiatives. Superior problem solving and communication skills; able to clearly articulate issues and make recommendations to all levels of management. Project management experience. Excellent communication skills. Leadership experience. Bilingual (French and English spoken and written). Availability to travel on occasion.
