This is a full-time role for an Information Technology Specialist at Subnet Systems Inc. The day-to-day tasks include managing network infrastructure, resolving technical issues, ensuring data security, and delivering excellent customer support. Responsibilities
- Respond to customer support tickets.
- Manage client Microsoft Office 365, Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Maintain, monitor and support client IT infrastructure.
- Monitor network, server, and cloud infrastructures to make sure they are functioning optimally.
- Regularly test and validate client backups, ensuring data integrity and recovery capabilities.
- Administer Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and associated services.
- Educate employees on cybersecurity best practices and protocols.
- Provide after-hours technical support when required.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and technology upgrades.
- Liaise with vendors and external partners to manage hardware and software procurement.
Qualifications
- Legally authorized to permanently work in Canada.
- Access to a reliable vehicle or transportation.
- Experience in an I.T. business environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work on on-call rotations, including nights and weekends.
- Microsoft Office 365 Cloud Services (Azure, Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams).
- Networking (LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, switching, wireless, proactive monitoring).
- Cybersecurity (M365, backups, vulnerability scanning, EDR, DNS filtering, etc.)
- Microsoft Domain (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy).
- Troubleshoot complex problems related to the operation of computer hardware or software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Work independently with minimal direction and as an effective team member.
Education
- 3+ years post-secondary education in Computer Information Systems; or equivalent on the job experience.
- Information technology certifications are an asset.
