Overview The Department of Political Science in the Faculty of Arts and Science at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time tenure stream position in the area of Canadian Politics. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026. Responsibilities Undertake undergraduate and graduate teaching responsibilities on the University of Toronto’s downtown (St. George) campus. Pursue innovative and independent research at the highest international level and establish an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program. Provide evidence of research excellence through publications, conference presentations, a research statement, awards, and strong endorsements from referees of high standing. Contribute to the department through teaching excellence, including a teaching dossier with required materials and teaching evaluations. Qualifications PhD degree in Political Science or a related discipline by the time of appointment, or shortly thereafter, with a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. Research and teaching interests that complement and deepen the department’s strengths in Canadian politics, institutions, governance, or public policy. Evidence of teaching excellence through teaching accomplishments, a teaching dossier, and strong letters of reference.
