Edmonton, Canada AMA - Alberta Motor Association Full time

AS A TROUBLESHOOTER, you’ve got INCREDIBLE aim.

Location: Edmonton Admin (Hybrid Light)

You’ve been passionate about technology and computers for as long as you can remember (even as a kid, you were the family’s go-to tech whiz). To you, building, testing, improving, and deploying digital devices isn’t just a hobby – it’s your calling. You love working with people, troubleshooting the root cause of technical issues, and sharing that knowledge within a team. In fact, there’s no IT challenge you won’t take on – you’re game for anything.

WHAT MOVES YOU

  • You're a technical analyst at heart, but you have a deep-rooted passion for producing an amazing end-user computer environment.
  • You’re a comfortable and confident communicator, highly skilled in researching and interviewing, and able to adjust your approach depending on your audience. You know what questions to ask and what to look for when problems arise.
  • You manage your time as expertly as you manage your projects. Prioritizing, planning, and organizing are part of your DNA.
  • You enjoy working with internal and external stakeholders, embracing the learning process, and keeping projects moving.
  • You handle even the tightest deadlines with a cool head and clear vision.
  • You love to share thoughts and ideas, knowing that two heads are always better than one.
  • Finding simple solutions to complicated problems and explaining them to others comes as naturally to you as breathing.
  • You highlight opportunities for automation, building out scripts that deliver complex workflows.
  • You believe “good enough” isn’t “good enough,” and love integrating technology to produce the exceptional.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Reporting to the Team Lead, Endpoint Services, you’ll architect and oversee AMA’s endpoint devices to exceed our user’s expectations.
  • You will be the service owner leading our strategic roadmap on how our users interface with our internal systems and technology stack.
  • You’ll be responsible for implementing and managing centralized software distribution and system configuration tools.
  • You’ll develop and maintain a software roadmap and lifecycle for supported applications, proactively recommend software upgrades or replacements, and create and maintain standard Windows and macOS images/configurations.
  • You’ll assess endpoint management systems and propose improvements or replacements.
  • You’ll develop, implement, maintain, and enforce standard policies for client devices and proactively research opportunities to improve service delivery, internal processes, client hardware, and software environments.
  • You’ll be responsible for planning, research, and execution of large device renewal projects.
  • You’ll promote feedback loops within the team, department, and organization to improve efficiency and remove non-value-adding tasks through automation.
  • You’ll design, develop, test, and maintain a variety of automation scripts that address large initiatives.
  • You’ll help the team lead drive the Endpoint strategic plan.
  • You’ll help the team lead to drive and recommend a digital device 3-year strategy, prepare yearly business plans, participate in budgeting, and evaluate new products, tools, and technology to address organizational needs, including emerging technologies.
  • You’ll provide technical leadership through coaching and mentoring of junior and intermediate coworkers. Also, provide acting team lead duties in the team lead's absence.

WHAT YOU'VE DONE

  • You have a post-secondary degree or diploma in an appropriate field like Information Technology or Computer Science.
  • You have 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • You have orchestrated and lead the technology roadmap for a large fleet of end-user devices.
  • You have a working history for leading end-user compute environments primarily using Microsoft Windows, macOS, and Office 365.
  • You have an in-depth understanding of enterprise Endpoint and digital device deployments, experience with ServiceNow, Knowledge Management, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Group Policy, Jamf, ABM, Knox, PowerShell scripting and PowerBI.
  • You have excellent coaching skills, ensuring you can help your those around you learn and grow.
  • Microsoft Certification, Project Management Professional, and Agile (Lean, Scrum, Kanban) would be an asset.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps Services and VDI (Azure VD, Windows 365, Citrix, etc.) would be an asset.
  • You have strong writing and presentation skills for both technical and business issues.

WHAT YOU’LL GET

  • Competitive salary.
  • Flexible benefits.
  • Outstanding employer-paid Retirement Savings Program.
  • Great AMA discounts.
  • Unlimited learning opportunities.
  • Paid vacation and other paid time off including a Volunteer Day and Me-Day.

We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
