The company is scaling rapidly to meet strong global demand. The Opportunity This is a foundational role for a hands-on, strategic finance professional. In the first 6–12 months, the Financial Controller will personally own accounting, controls, and reporting. Over time, this role will evolve into Head of Finance / Director of Finance, including building and leading the finance team. You will work closely with the CEO and leadership team and play a central role in establishing financial discipline, transparency, and scalability. Key Responsibilities Own the full accounting cycle including bookkeeping, monthly close, and financial statements. Implement financial controls, policies, and approval workflows. Manage cash, treasury, and liquidity planning. Build cost accounting and inventory controls for a hardware business. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Prepare management, board, and investor reporting. Manage relationships with external accountants, tax advisors, and auditors. Select, implement, and manage finance systems and ERP as the company scales. Hire and lead the finance team as growth requires. Qualifications Required 4+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance Strong hands-on experience with financial reporting and month-end close Experience with cost accounting and inventory management. Advanced Excel skills; strong experience with QuickBooks Experience working in a start-up, scale-up, or small team environment. Comfortable building systems and processes from scratch Preferred CPA designation Experience in hardware, manufacturing, or inventory-driven businesses. Experience with SR&ED or government R&D grants. Work Environment On-site presence required initially due to hardware and operational complexity. Hybrid work as systems and team mature.
