Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Meat Cutter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation and butchery, with a strong focus on meat cutting, food safety, and customer service. This role involves preparing high-quality meat products for retail, ensuring proper handling, packaging, and presentation to meet our standards and customer expectations. The Meat Cutter will play a vital role in maintaining the efficiency and cleanliness of our meat department while providing excellent service to our customers.

Duties

  • Cut, trim, and prepare various types of meat according to specifications and safety standards
  • Ensure all meat products are properly packaged, labeled, and stored in accordance with food safety regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, tools, and equipment in compliance with health guidelines
  • Assist customers with their selections and provide knowledgeable advice on meat cuts and preparation methods
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management
  • Follow all food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure freshness
  • Operate slicing machines and other equipment safely and efficiently
  • Assist in maintaining a well-organized and attractive display of meat products

Requirements

  • Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in butchery or meat cutting, is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
  • Strong skills in meat cutting, food preparation, and packaging
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to assist customers professionally
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Kitchen experience or related food industry background is a plus
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds as needed
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and quality in all tasks

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 11 per week
