Summer 2026 is going to be a blockbuster, so why not spend it with us making movies at The University of Calgary.

A summer of action, adventure, suspense and a lot of comedy await you at Film Camp in a Box. Join us on the red carpet as you help mentor young filmmakers between the ages of in either movie making, stop motion animation or music video production. We are currently seeking an 'Out of the Box' assistant supervisor who is passionate about movie making, technology and engaging the imagination and creativity of young people in a safe, welcoming environment. Flexibility, creative thinking, risk taking and always being a step ahead are superpowers we are looking to welcome to our crew this summer. Your mission, if you choose to accept it (well we both need to accept it)... include;

  • Assist in supervising daily camp activities focused on film production, storytelling, and creative collaboration.
  • Support the planning and execution of age-appropriate film projects, ensuring all participants are engaged and motivated.
  • Collaborate with senior staff to manage behavior and promote positive interactions among campers.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to campers, encouraging teamwork, confidence, and artistic expression.
  • Help maintain a safe environment by enforcing camp policies and responding promptly to any incidents or emergencies.
  • Assist with setup, cleanup, and organization of equipment related to filmmaking, including cameras..
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and campers to ensure smooth operations and address any concerns.
  • Functional understanding of Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere, I-movie and cinematography

A Must have summer experience for anyone in education, recreation, media, film or high school grads looking for their AHA moment on the red carpet. Free popcorn, cool shirts and awesome film crew members will make your summer bigger and better than a Christopher Nolan movie

Prior to the start of camp, you must obtain the following certificates and licenses. Full training is provided.

FIrst Aid / CPR , Vlunerable Police Check and High Five Certifcation
