Job DescriptionThis position is responsible for accounts receivable related administrative functions, including billing preparation, contacting delinquent accounts, reviewing reports and posting charges, communicating with patients and processing payments, filing and other clerical duties, month-end journal entries and other duties as assigned.
This is what you'll be doing:
- Lead claim submissions for OHIP, WSIB, Out of Province, DVA, Armed Forces and IFH as assigned
- Liaise with internal departments and extended health insurance companies to support claim processing and follow-up regarding payment status
- Prepare and mail invoices to patients
- Review reports and post charges daily to patient accounts
- Identify and resolve payment discrepancies
- Review delinquent accounts and contact patients to secure payment
- Create and maintain reports, spreadsheets and files
- Handle in-person, phone, voicemail, fax, and email patient inquiries
- Process payments, and support the billing and collections functions of all hospital sites
- Prepare bank deposits, and other related cashiering services
- Process and submit manual and electronic hospital claim forms including coordination of benefits
- Will perform other duties as required.

- Post secondary accounting/finance courses and demonstrate a strong accounting knowledge
- Minimum 1-2 years accounting/finance experience
- Cashier or Call Centre experience considered an asset
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize multiple projects with strict deadlines
- Proficiency in computers i.e. MS Office programs (Word, Excel, & Outlook)
- Excellent documentation abilities with attention to detail
- Proven interpersonal and communications skills across all levels of the organization with a customer service focus
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Demonstrate initiative and flexibility to meet departmental needs
- Previous health care accounting experience in a hospital environment is an asset
- Physically able to sit, stand, walk, occasional lift and/or carry approximately 20lbs
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record
Status: Permanent Full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday - 7.5 hour day shifts; Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)
Salary: $30.462 to $38.051
