Summary:
We are looking to hire a medical secretary on a full-time basis. The candidate needs to be proficient in working independently and be adaptable to changing clinic needs. We are looking for a candidate who is able to work in-person with patients and be able to fulfill multiple clinic roles simultaneously (e.g. reception, secretarial and office administration).
Job Responsibilities:
The successful candidate would be responsible for all daily administrative duties involved in supporting a medical doctor's office. Job duties would include: opening and closing the clinic; responding to and managing phone calls and electronic patient messages; checking in patients at reception and screening patients prior to entering the clinic; directing patient flow between rooms; prepping and cleaning rooms between patients; scheduling new and follow-up patient appointments; uploading documents (scans and faxes) into our electronic medical records program (EMR); stocking and managing medical/office supply inventory; managing patient appointments' and doctor's schedule; liaising with other physician offices/hospitals; handling incoming and outgoing mail, faxes and shipments; medical assistant support; and other clerical and cross-functional duties as assigned based on office needs.
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:
The successful candidate must be a self-starter who can work independently, be flexible to change and must: (i) have excellent communication skills; (ii) be able to multi-task efficiently; (iii) pay close attention to detail and deliver care accurately; (iv) possess a high level of integrity and maintain complete privacy and respect for patient confidentiality and (v) be proficient in MS office applications, e-mail and ability to work with scanning, digital fax and an electronic medical record (EMR) program; previous experience with an electronic medical record (EMR) program preferred.
