Job Overview

Midland Food Product Inc. is a trusted importer and distributor of high-quality frozen seafood products, serving wholesale and food service clients across Ontario. As our operations continue to grow, we are seeking a detail-oriented Import & Quality Coordinator to join our logistics team. This role combines import shipment coordination with quality oversight to support compliance with CFIA regulations and our Preventive Control Plan (PCP).

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full cycle of import documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading.
  • Coordinate international and domestic shipments, ensuring timely pickup, transit, and delivery.
  • Communicate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and CFIA officers to ensure smooth customs clearance.
  • Support maintenance and updates of the Preventive Control Plan (PCP) and assist in audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to verify shipping documents and ensure product and order accuracy.
  • Track shipments and proactively resolve any delays or discrepancies.
  • Work with internal teams (sales, warehouse, purchasing) to provide shipment updates and documentation support.
  • Organize and archive import and quality-related files according to internal and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in import procedures, including international shipping coordination.
  • Experience or exposure to quality control, food safety audits, or regulatory compliance is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of CFIA requirements and food import regulations.
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn Preventive Control Plan (PCP) maintenance.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments and quality tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and import tracking systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
