Job Summary
Employees must have transportation to the shop, there is no transit in the area.
We are seeking a skilled snow removal labourer to efficiently clear snow and ice from designated roadways, and walkways during winter months. The ideal candidate will have experience operating snow removal equipment and possess mechanical knowledge to ensure safe and effective operations. This role is essential for maintaining safe access and mobility in winter conditions, contributing to community safety and operational continuity.
Duties
- Operate snow removal equipment to clear snow and ice from driveways and walkways. such as back pack blower, snow brush and shovels
- Perform routine inspections of snow removal equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and mechanical knowledge for minor repairs or adjustments to equipment as needed.
- Must have their own vehicle to get to the shop on snow days
Coordinate with team members to prioritize routes and ensure timely snow removal operations.
Maintain detailed logs of work performed and equipment used during shifts.Experience
Prior experience operating snow machinery is preferred.
- Background in landscape maintenance or general construction work is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to machinery operation and winter weather conditions.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Contract length: 5 months
Pay: $19.00-$24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
Work Location: In person
