Job Summary

A Snow Removal Labourer is responsible for clearing snow and ice from sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and other outdoor areas to ensure safe and accessible conditions during winter weather. This position requires physical strength, attention to safety, and the ability to work in cold and demanding conditions, often during early mornings, nights, weekends, or holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shovel, de-ice, and remove snow from walkways, driveways, parking lots, and entrances.
  • Spread salt, sand, or other de-icing materials to prevent slipping hazards.
  • Operate snow removal equipment such as snow blowers.
  • Monitor weather conditions and respond promptly to snow and ice events.
  • Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment safely.
  • Maintain equipment by cleaning and reporting any mechanical issues or damage.
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear proper protective gear.
  • Work as part of a team to complete snow removal routes efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Previous snow removal or outdoor labor experience preferred.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs, perform repetitive movements, and work in cold, wet, and slippery conditions.
  • Must be available on-call, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on weather.
  • Reliable transportation to job sites or designated meeting areas.
  • Ability to operate or learn to use snow removal equipment safely.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
  • Valid drivers license and clean abstract

Job Type: Seasonal

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $18.00-$28.00 per hour
