Purpose of the position

The position will be responsible for (but not limited to):

• Serves as the first point of contact for the public regarding tax, utility, and account inquiries, and directs complex issues to the appropriate department.
• Processes customer payments through various methods, including those from other municipal locations.
• Performs reconciliations for daily cash and daily/monthly Perfect Mind Software.
• Prepares daily deposits and end of day cash out.
• Sorts, reviews, and distributes mail in person, by postage, or by email.
• Processes NSF payments and reallocates receipts as requested by Supervisor.
• Prepares, reviews, and sends correspondence, reports, and documents on behalf of the department.
• Processing payments and administering mail to accurately reflect customer balances and various revenue stream (bank deposits, reconciliations, etc.)
• Assisting residents and the general public to provide a high quality of customer service for Lac La Biche County services.
• Performing general administrative responsibilities to meet department needs.
• Other duties as required.

To be successful in this position, you will come with:

• Certificate in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Diploma preferred.
• A combination of related education and work experience may be considered
• Years of experience: 1-2 years related experience.
• General knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Excellent customer service, public relations, interpersonal, and communications skills
• Proficiency in computer applications especially MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and database applications
• An understanding of Municipal operations. Municipal experience preferred

Successful candidate must provide a Driver's Abstract and a Criminal Record Check that meets the satisfaction of the County.

Position details

• Permanent Full-Time
• 1820 hours per year - 35 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Salary range is: $32.94 to $42.19 hourly ($59,949.71 to $76,783.62 annually)
