What You'll Be Doing

As a member of CIBC's Security Engineering team, you'll play a crucial role in all matters of Information Security. You'll focus on assessing projects for security risks by examining and interpreting requirement documents and architecture diagrams. We are looking for an action-oriented, collaborative and innovative individual that would be responsible for designing, building, and deploying Microsoft Security solutions, such as Defender for Endpoint. The Security Engineer (Microsoft Defender for Endpoint) will also be responsible for completing proof-of-concept and proof-of-technology exercises on new security offerings as well as designing and implementing successful solutions. This role is an excellent opportunity to join a world class team within a great organization and assist with meeting a large enterprise's growing Information Security needs. This role requires to be on call for a week once every four months.

How You'll Succeed

  • Azure Infrastructure Design & Deployment -Architect, implement, and manage Azure infrastructure solutions using native services such as Virtual Networks, Azure Storage, Azure Compute, Azure Active Directory, and Azure Resource Manager. Deploy and configure core Azure resources, including but not limited to Azure Virtual Machines, Azure App Services, Azure SQL Database, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Load Balancer, Azure Firewall, and Azure Key Vault.

  • Endpoint Security Engineering - Maintain and support Endpoint & Cloud security tools including Anti-Malware, XDR, EDR, CSPM from vendors such as Microsoft.

  • Security & Compliance - Apply best practices for securing Azure environments, including network security groups, role-based access control (RBAC), and policy enforcement. Designing and building integrated Information Security solutions that meet the needs of a large enterprise. Constantly evaluating our security posture and staying up to date with relevant industry perspective. Maintaining and supporting endpoint security tools such as Microsoft Defender for Endpoint. Functional knowledge of Purview Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Microsoft Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB) and Microsoft Defender for Cloud (CSPM). Identifying current and emerging perimeter security.  Sourcing and implementing new perimeter security solutions to better protect the organization.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate 5+ years' experience in designing, deploying, and managing Azure cloud infrastructure.  Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools in Azure will be an asset. Understanding of cloud security best practices and Azure governance along with knowledgeable of Microsoft Security Technologies. You bring solid experience in Platform Engineering for Red Hat Linux or other NIX based Operating Systems. It is an asset if you have designed, deployed and managed Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.   Experience with Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Sentinel, Defender for Cloud Apps, or Cloud Security Posture Management are also a benefit.

  • You're a certified professional. You have current accreditation and good standing in Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions or Architect Expert equivalent certification is sought after.  CISSP, CCSP, CISM certifications are an asset.

  • You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • You give meaning to data. You enjoy investigating complex problems and making sense of information. You communicate detailed information in a meaningful way.
