Job Opportunity: Security Engineer (Remote)

We are currently seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer for a remote full-time position in Ontario, Canada. Our client, a leading SaaS company operating out of Toronto, specializes in providing innovative cloud-based solutions to businesses worldwide. Operating remotely across Ontario, the successful candidate will join a dynamic team dedicated to ensuring the security and integrity of the company's software platforms and customer data.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain security measures for cloud-based SaaS applications, including identity and access management, data encryption, and security monitoring.
  • Monitor cloud infrastructure and applications for security breaches and promptly respond to security incidents.
  • Conduct security assessments and penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Work alongiside DevOps and engineering teams to ensure security best practices are integrated into the software development lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation for the SaaS platform.
  • Stay up-to-date with the Security trends, threats, and technologies relevant to SaaS environments.
  • Provide training and awareness programs to internal teams.
  • Participate in incident response activities and contribute to the continuous improvement of the security program for SaaS products.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Security engineering or related roles, preferably in SaaS environments.
  • Strong understanding of Cyber Security principles, technologies, and best practices applicable to cloud-based services.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO).
  • Preferably, experience working with cloud-based environments like AWS or Azure.
  • Knowledge of web application security, including OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and secure coding practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or AWS Certified Security Specialty are a plus.
