About the Role
Uber Freight is looking for experienced customer service professionals with a background in the Transportation, Supply Chain or Logistics field. Our specialists will lead transportation functions to ensure accurate, timely delivery of products in the most efficient and cost-effective manner all while providing excellent customer service to our customers. This role is based at our Oakville, ON office, with standard department hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
What the Candidate Will Do
- Use the Transportation Management System (TMS) to its fullest potential in order to facilitate the life cycle of an order
- Exceed customer on time pick-up and delivery expectations
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with carriers contracted to the account as well as other carriers operating in your geographical region
- Effective and timely freight coverage and carrier selection through systemic routing guide and spot shipments including rate negotiation
- Leverage TMS to effectively route and consolidate orders considering best cost and transit options for all transportation modes
- Monitoring and resolving shipment data errors
- Proactive analysis to prevent service failures
- Proactively develop, recommend and implement cost savings and/or service improvement programs in support of the transportation strategy
- Professional and timely communications
- Identify patterns with shipper, receiver, and carrier performance and recommend actions for improvement
- Resolve carrier invoice discrepancies in TMS financials
- Train new customer and vendor users on the TMS, demonstrating knowledge of customer business practices and workflow
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience
- 1-2 years of related experience in Transportation/Logistics/Supply Chain
- Canada over the road transportation experience
- Must be bilingual in French and English
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Transportation Logistics or Supply Chain Management
- Strong understanding of cross-border transportation and the freight logistics industry
- Experience with reefer/frozen, flatbed, LTL & FTL transportation
- Reporting and Analytics (Ability to run BI reports; validate information; understand reports, offer feedback and deliver insights to your manager and or customer contacts on the information contained within the report)
- Knowledge of Microsoft and/or Google Tools
