Reporting to the Shop Manager, this position is designed to be a shop assistant with assorted tasks and roles and possibility to grow within the company.

We are looking for a dedicated, reliable and skilled Shop Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting shop operations by assisting with various tasks related to fabrication, assembly, and maintaining a well-organized workspace.

Experience:

  • Labour: No experience necessary

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Measuring, marking and mounting parts inside electrical panels
  • Basic wiring under supervision
  • Assist in the fabrication and assembly of products according to specifications.
  • Operate power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain an organized and clean workspace to ensure safety and productivity.
  • Support inventory management by keeping track of materials and supplies.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and meet quality standards.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Local pick-up/deliveries
  • May include future forklift training and packaging for shipping

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
  • Willingness to put safety first and follow all shop guidelines
  • Ability to accept direction/guidance from shop manager
  • Excellent follow-through and attention to detail
  • Computer skills not required but an asset
  • Previous general labour or shop experience not required but an asset
  • Forklift ticket not required but an asset
  • Minimum Grade 10 or equivalent
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively, tactfully, and persuasively
  • Self-starter, with the ability to work efficiently in a team environment
  • Valid class 5 driver's license.
  • Resourceful and mechanically inclined.
  • Dependable and consistent in attendance, quality, and productivity.
  • Standing for extended periods of time

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
