What is the opportunity?

Optiom, Canada's leading replacement insurance provider, is at an inflection point. The organization is ready to transform how it delivers on its promise to customers and partners. This newly elevated VP Operations role has been created to lead that transformation. This is an opportunity to shape the operational backbone of a growing national business. As the VP Operations, you will be building scalable infrastructure, developing leadership talent, and embedding operational discipline across the enterprise. The successful candidate will have a seat at the senior leadership table and direct influence on Optiom's trajectory.

What will you do?

  • Partner with the Senior Leadership Team to drive enterprise initiatives, ensure cross-functional alignment, and support execution of organizational priorities.
  • Translate Genpact's strategic recommendations into a clear, actionable operational roadmap with defined milestones, ownership, and accountability.
  • Contribute to the development, refinement, and execution of the organization's strategic objectives and operational plans.
  • Provide operational insight and leadership in requirements gathering for new products, services, and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies that achieve departmental goals while aligning with broader organizational objectives.
  • Lead and oversee client care operations, including claims management, partner support, retention and premium finance, and related operational functions.
  • Establish shared services as a true centre of excellence that enables the business, improves efficiency, and supports scalable growth.
  • Build strong, productive partnerships with IT, Sales, and Finance leadership, creating aligned priorities, clear interfaces, and effective operating rhythms.
  • Implement operational metrics and performance dashboards that drive visibility, accountability, and continuous improvement across functions.
  • Assess, strengthen, and develop the operations management team by identifying capability gaps, building leadership depth, and addressing development needs.
  • Build, lead, and mentor high-performing, multi-functional management teams, with a strong focus on leadership development and succession planning.
  • Lead significant operational change initiatives, including process improvement, organizational transformation, and post-acquisition or integration efforts.
  • Ensure teams are equipped with the guidance, resources, and support required to consistently deliver strong client outcomes and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate effectively across functions to influence outcomes, remove barriers, and drive results both with and without direct authority.

What do you need to succeed?

  • 10+ years of proven working experience in Operations or similar role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, or related field an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Proven capability to build trust and influence across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong drive for building, improving, and evolving processes and programs.
  • Clear, confident communicator with the ability to translate complex concepts into accessible messaging.
  • Proficiency in MS Suite.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • Works well under pressure & meets tight deadlines.
  • Strategic and creative mindset.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
