Stoney Creek ON LJ L, Canada Heritage Green Child Care Inc. Full time

Heritage Green Child Care Inc. is a multi site organization with 2 child care sites, 2 before and after school programs and an EarlyON Centre, all located on the Stoney Creek mountain. We are currently looking for qualified individuals to join our team as part of our Before and After School Program starting in January.

Hours

This job is for a split shift position, five days per week . Candidates must be able to work a split shift from 7:00am-9:30 and 3:00-5:30. This position may also include PA Days and school breaks such as March Break and Summer camp which may be full time hours.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications to join our team at our Mount Albion Elementary School location:

  • Degree/diploma in Early Childhood Education, and a member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educator's (new graduates must have applied to the College of ECE's). Candidates who hold an Ontario College of Teachers degree also qualify;
  • Consideration will also go to those with a diploma in Child and Youth Worker, Social Service Worker or Recreation and Leisure; or experience working with children in a similar environment;
  • Experience in a licensed child setting is an asset;
  • Must provide a current Vulnerable Sector Police Check (dated within the last 6 months) or willingness to obtain one at own cost;
  • Must provide results of a current TB test (from within the past 6 months) or be willing to get a Step 1 TB test;
  • HGCC has a mandatory vaccination policy. We require applicants to disclose their vaccine status including Tetanus (within the past 10 years), proof of MMR as well as proof to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 including the first booster shot; additional booster shots for COVID-19 may also be required in the future;
  • Must have current Standard First Aid and CPR certificate (Level C) or ability to complete the course prior to September 2023;
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and work in a busy environment supervising large groups of children and facilitating activities with them;

Wage:

The starting rate for this position is $23.55 (for non-ECE) to $27.86 (RECE) per hour, depending on experience and credentials.

Location:

We are located at 24 Kennard street in Mount Albion Elementary School. We are on a city bus route.
