Solution Expert – Electrical Technical Support
5 days ago
We are looking for a Solution Expert with strong electrical expertise for our client, PrevTech. The company designs and markets technological solutions built on a deep understanding of electrical power systems in agricultural environments. Their platform enables producers to monitor electrical consumption in real time and quickly detect anomalies across their facilities. But what truly sets PrevTech apart is its proactive monitoring team, and the company is doubling down on customer experience as a central pillar of its strategy.
As PrevTech continues its rapid expansion in the Canadian and U.S. markets, the team is strengthening its technical support function to cover additional time zones and accompany growing demand. As a Solution Expert, you are the company's technical authority, the primary point of contact for partner electricians, and the internal expert your colleagues rely on when situations become complex. This is a fully remote position, providing technical support by phone and computer, on a schedule aligned with Pacific Time.
CLIENT AND ELECTRICIAN SUPPORT (90%)
You support electricians throughout the installation and commissioning cycle of PrevTech systems:
- Validate quotes and preliminary plans prepared by sales representatives;
- Ensure that material lists and configurations match the client's actual needs;
- Train electricians on the PrevTech solution before installation to ensure compliance with standards and specifications;
- Confirm that all sensors and components are functioning properly before commissioning;
- Guide electricians during troubleshooting interventions by providing them with a clear and structured action plan;
- Diagnose complex electrical problems remotely using a rigorous elimination process;
COACHING AND KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER (8%)
You act as an internal technical reference for the entire PrevTech team:
- Guide level 1 and 2 support teams in resolving complex cases;
- Help colleagues better understand the product, ask the right questions, and unblock situations;
- Answer questions from other departments (sales, logistics, engineering) regarding the product or installations;
- Contribute to the team's skill development by sharing your technical expertise.
CONTINUOUS PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT (2%)
You actively participate in optimizing tools, processes, and the PrevTech solution:
- Identify improvement opportunities in the different stages of the customer journey;
- Report recurring problems observed in the field to the engineering teams;
- Suggest adjustments to procedures or tools to facilitate the work of teams and partners.
Skills Required:
- Decision-making
- Oral communication
- Teaching
- Customer orientation
- Autonomy
- Analysis
- Problem-solving
- Adaptability
Requirements (experience, qualifications, languages):
- Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in electricity or equivalent college/vocational training
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in electricity (electrician or electrical technician)
- In-depth knowledge of electrical power networks
- Experience in livestock buildings (a major asset)
- Languages:
- Fluent English (primary language for the position)
- French: an asset
- Spanish: an asset
Position Challenges:
- Provide remote technical support without being able to directly observe the situation in the field
- Develop strong listening and visualization skills to understand what the electrician or client describes over the phone
- Work autonomously remotely, especially late in the day, without immediate team support
- Operate in a high-growth context, with a sustained pace and many new developments
- Quickly adapt to changes and new demands related to expansion
Recent Achievements:
- Significant expansion in the American and Canadian markets, with the arrival of large sites and major clients;
- The company is evolving its technological solution to remain at the forefront of innovation;
- PrevTech no longer positions itself solely as a product manufacturer, but as a service provider.
Working Conditions:
- Permanent position, full-time (40 hours per week);
- 100% remote work (possibility of occasional travel for team events);
- Salary starting at $31/hour;
- 3 weeks of vacation upon hiring;
- Group insurance offered;
- Computer equipment provided as needed.
