Liaison Engineer II – Electrical (Afternoon Shift)

Duration:
12-month contract

Shift:
Afternoon Shift | 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM

Compensation:

  • INC:
    $50–$53/hour
  • T4:
    $40–$43/hour

Position Overview

The Liaison Engineering Team is seeking two (2)
Liaison Engineer II – Electrical
professionals. Reporting to the Liaison Engineering Manager, Liaison Lead, and Project Manager, the successful candidates will be responsible for evaluating and resolving electrical engineering–related production issues within assigned construction areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong understanding of construction standards, electrical systems, material specifications, and Bills of Material
  • Apply knowledge of cable pulling practices and applicable electrical standards
  • Collaborate closely with design engineers to resolve production and field issues
  • Attend manufacturing shops and provide on-site engineering support as required
  • Support electrical engineering activities across assigned construction areas
  • Work closely with Operations, Planning, and Production Control to resolve issues while maintaining cost and schedule objectives
  • Develop and review design documentation to achieve customer, classification society, and regulatory approvals
  • Provide technical support to suppliers and subcontractors to meet performance targets

Education & Experience

  • Engineering degree in
    Electrical, Mechatronic, Electrical Marine Systems, Electronic, or Power Engineering
  • P.Eng. or EIT registration
    required
  • 3+ years
    of post-secondary experience in the marine industry or a similar environment preferred

Skills, Knowledge & Competencies

  • Working knowledge of cable pulling, electrical equipment, single-line diagrams, and field engineering
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, including the use of engineering analysis tools
  • Ability to work independently and develop solutions to complex technical problems
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to data accuracy and completeness
  • Strong technical writing and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience with
    ShipConstructor, CAD software, Navis
    , and preferably
    Cadmatic
    , 3D modelling, and document control systems is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
