After several successful years working with an external accounting firm, we're bringing our accounting function in-house. We're looking for a hands-on, sharp Financial Controller to build, own, and lead this function from the ground up.
This is not a maintenance role.
This is a
builder role
.
You will work directly with the CEO and leadership team, taking full ownership of accounting operations while helping translate numbers into better decisions as we scale.
What You'll Own
- Full ownership of accounting operations: GL, AR/AP, revenue recognition, payroll oversight, month-end close.
- Lead the transition from external accounting to a fully internalized function.
- Own and optimize NetSuite — automation, accuracy, controls, and data integrity.
- Prepare and present monthly financials with insight, not just reporting.
- Cash flow planning, forecasting, and working capital management.
- Tax compliance and coordination (Canada & international exposure a plus).
- Build processes that scale — clean, documented, and enforceable.
Who You Are
- CPA designation required.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a high-growth, product-based business (CPG / Beauty / Retail preferred).
- Deep NetSuite experience is mandatory — not just usage, but optimization.
- A systems thinker who enjoys structure, clarity, and accountability.
- Comfortable operating independently with high ownership.
- Able to translate financial data into operational insight for non-finance leaders.
