Financial Controller

Job Description: Our client, a manufacturing company, is currently seeking a Controller to oversee financial operations. The Controller will play a key role in financial planning and reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the annual budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with department heads to establish financial targets and monitor performance against goals.
  • Provide strategic financial analysis and insights to senior management, identifying opportunities for cost optimization, revenue enhancement, and risk mitigation.
  • Lead the preparation of financial reports for stakeholders, including management, board of directors, and external auditors.
  • Manage cash flow, treasury functions, and banking relationships to optimize liquidity and maximize returns on investments.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, including preparation and filing of corporate tax returns and coordination of tax planning strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on special projects, such as system implementations, process improvements, and strategic initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation required
  • years of accounting experience, including managerial roles
  • Thorough knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
