Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Excavator Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy equipment, primarily excavators. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy machinery, safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment. Prior experience with heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders. The Excavator Operator will play a vital role in ensuring project accuracy, safety, and timely completion.

Duties

  • Operate excavators safely and efficiently on construction sites to perform tasks such as digging, trenching, lifting, and material handling
  • Assist with the operation of related heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and horizontal drilling machinery
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of excavators to ensure optimal performance
  • Collaborate with team members to execute project plans and meet deadlines
  • Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a secure work environment
  • Support other construction activities such as paving and site preparation as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment usage

Skills

  • Proven experience operating excavators and other heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders.
  • Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues and perform basic maintenance
  • Strong understanding of construction site safety procedures and protocols
  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is preferred for transporting equipment between sites
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment operation standards within the construction industry
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments and adhere to safety standards at all times
  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork orientation
