Join our dynamic team as a Cashier/Customer Service representative, where you'll be the friendly face that greets our customers and ensures they have an exceptional shopping experience In this role, you will manage transactions, provide outstanding customer service, and contribute to a positive atmosphere in our grocery store. What you'll do

  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process customer transactions accurately.
  • Deliver top-notch customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing product demonstrations.
  • Engage in upselling techniques to enhance customer purchases while ensuring they feel valued and understood.
  • Maintain a well-organized checkout area, ensuring it is stocked with necessary supplies and merchandise is displayed attractively.
  • Handle cash and credit transactions with precision while adhering to cash handling policies.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure the store is clean, stocked, and ready for customers at all times.
  • Utilize effective communication skills to interact with customers in both English and another language if bilingual.
  • Assist in training new staff members by sharing your knowledge of retail sales practices and phone etiquette.

Basic qualifications

  • Strong communication skills with a passion for delivering excellent customer service.
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions and retail math calculations.
  • Experience in cashiering or retail sales is preferred but not mandatory.

Preferred qualifications

  • Previous experience supervising or mentoring team members is a plus.
  • Familiarity with merchandising techniques to enhance product visibility and appeal.
  • Experience in stocking shelves efficiently while maintaining inventory accuracy.
